Specifications
| Application method | Conveniently, 1 kg of gypsum has a volume of approx 1 L (1 tonne has a volume of 1 m3). Quick inter-conversion between mass and volume simplifies accurate measurement. Gypsum is easy and safe to apply using conventional dry-spreading equipment. |
|---|---|
| Application rate | Apply approximately 0.5 kg per square metre. Mix into the soil and then water well. |
| Application timing | Gypsum relies upon rainfall to solubilise it, so the best time to apply is in early spring or after harvest when rainfall occurs. Apply in calm or at the most 'light breeze' (one to two knots) conditions. This avoids large amounts being blown away from the target area. |
