Easy Returns

Products ordered online can be returned within 30 working days of taking delivery of the products, provided they meet our return conditions. The goods can be either refunded, replaced or exchanged.

Dunstan's Extruded Maize is a high-energy supplement for horses requiring an increased calorie intake, including for weight gain. This feed is effective due to the extrusion process as it increases the maize's digestibility in the small intestine.

  • Feed to horses in need of a calorie-dense ration for weight gain
  • Extruded (cooked) for improved digestibility, providing a safer form of maize to the diet
  • Adding vegetable oil during cooking increases the energy value of the feed and provides essential fatty acids to help improve skin and coat appearance
  • Typical analysis (dry matter basis): Crude protein 8.0%, fibre 3.0%, fat 5.0%, salt 0.06%, and DE 16.5 MJ/KG
Specifications
Feeding rates The recommended feeding rates are based on a 500 kg horse and are guidelines only. Racework: Feed 0.5 to 1.5 kg per day depending on race activity. Conditioning feed: 0.5 to 1.0 kg per day according to body weight.
How to prepare Ensure adequate fibre intake by providing 1 to 1 .5% per day of the horse's body weight as chaff, hay, Dunstan Betabeet/Sugarbeet or pasture (on a dry matter basis). It is advisable to split the daily hard feed into at least two feeds, preferably three to four, feeding no more than 0.5 kg of Dunstan Extruded Maize per meal. Always introduce a new feed gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days.
