Fertigation Solutions
Fertigation is an efficient and flexible way of supplying nutrients to plants according to their changing demands. By allowing growers to apply exact nutrients to a plant through the various growth stages, productivity is maximised as well as helping build the plant's tolerance to conditions.
Here at Fruitfed Supplies, we have a sound knowledge of fertigation practices enabling us to provide you with specialised recommendations and technical advice across a range of crops.

The Importance of Fertigation
Key benefits of fertigation:
- Fertiliser can be applied directly to the root zone optimising plant growth.
- Increased nutrient absorbtion by plants due to an improved nutrient efficiency.
- Improved nutrient management of mobile nutrients like nitrogen in the soil, minimising environmental loss.
- Improved water consumption as the plants increased root mass has the ability to trap and hold water reducing the potentialfor leaching.
- Nutrient applications can more closely match plant demand and be easily modified, providing flexibility and in turn improve crop production.
- Reduction in tractor operations, fuel costs, machinery wear and tear, and labour costs.

Fertigation boosts productivity in avocado orchard
Looking to be involved with an orchard from its development through to full production, Nick Common joined Harbour Edge Avocado seven years ago. Having studied horticulture and spent time in the irrigation industry , Nick soon saw the benefit of installing fertigation on the orcahrd to deliver nutrients directly to the trees.

Calcinit is a fully water soluble nitrogen and calcium fertiliser.
It is a free flowing, fine granular material which dissolves quickly in water without any residues.
Suited to application through all fertigation systems – drip systems, low-throw sprinklers, centre pivots and spray units.
Calcinit contains 1.1% ammonium (NH4) important during periods of high nitrogen uptake which causes the pH of the media to rise.
KRISTALON is a growth stage based, fully water soluble NPK fertiliser solution for fertigation systems.
The different grades are made of highest quality raw materials (hydroponic quality grade).
Each product supplies a specific nutrient ratio that is based on the requirements of the crop at different growth stages.
A complete range of free flowing and fully water soluble straight fertilisers for all fertigation systems.
With the YaraTera Krista range of products combined with YaraTera Calcinit and YaraTera Rexolin (micronutrients) you can provide all nutrients needed by the crop.

High performance range of chelated micronutrients delivering essential metals to plants, increasing agricultural productivity.
All micronutrients are fully chelated and completely soluble in water (with the exception of B and Mo).
A sustainable solution, since the protection by the chelating agent results in much lower dose rates compared to traditional, non-chelated micronutrients, avoiding accumulation of metals like zinc and copper in the environment.

YaraTera SUPER FK30 is a pH neutral liquid PK-fertiliser, with 30% SUPER FK phosphates.
The regular use of SUPER FK30 cleans lines, sprinklers and drippers by softening the water and breaking the connection between Calcium + Phosphorus, Magnesium + Phosphorus or Iron + Phosphorus making them soluble again.
The unique polyphosphate form in Super FK30 is also more available to roots compared to other products (e.g. from MKP) and has been proven to show improved root quality and plant growth across a variety of crops.
