New specialised vineyard sprayer
The new three-row VinePro sprayer has been released by Croplands, fitted with twelve Quantum Vineyard fan units and available for delivery later this year.
Richard Flatman, National Product Manager – Machinery at Fruitfed Supplies, is looking forward to seeing the specialised vineyard sprayer in action for the 2025-26 season.
“The team at Croplands has implemented numerous improvements from earlier models to create the three-row VinePro unit, all of which make this unit of great value in a variety of vineyard conditions across New Zealand."
Three-row VinePro features:
- A mid-mounted, rear-folding boom with faster opening and closing to increase efficiency for headland turns, and provide better balance and narrower transport width
- Auto row width adjustment meaning no more moving droppers for varying row widths.
- Lower centre of gravity for better overall balance
- Improved plumbing layout, reducing the number of hoses at the back
- Operator-friendly plumbing controls mounted in side panel
- Larger flush tank
- Three-point linkage drawbar standard on all models
- Larger tank capacity (2,500 litres and 3,500 litres)
- ISOBUS controls standard on all models
- Optional features include terracing and auto-terracing, and hydraulic inner row adjustment
An analysis (see Table 1) by Croplands compares the performance of a 3,500-litre, three-row sprayer to a 2,000-litre, two-row sprayer over a 100-hectare block.
In addition to saving up to $5,000 in fuel, a three-row sprayer also offers:
- Reduced spray time to allow growers to make use of small spray windows and mean they’re less likely to miss crucial spray applications
- Reduced labour costs, with fewer operators required
- Reduced tractor repairs and maintenance as well as a smaller fleet of tractors and sprayers
- Reduced hours on tractor, potentially extending the tractor lifecycle by up to 33 percent
Richard says, “The change to a three-row sprayer has the potential to save larger growers hundreds of thousands of dollars per year without compromising spray quality."

Quantum Vineyard Spray Units
Croplands’ Quantum vineyard spray units are designed to deliver robust coverage across various canopy types and vineyard conditions. These units provide turbulent air that penetrates dense canopies effectively. Unlike other systems, Quantum units do not rely on opposing airflows, making them the most reliable choice for three-row configurations.
Hydraulically operated for fuel efficiency, Quantum units are more cost-effective to maintain than PTO-driven airshear fans. They feature dual spray rings for easy rate adjustments and provide better control over airflow, which can reduce drift when set up correctly. The added nozzles per canopy allow for finer droplets and more even coverage on grape bunches, improving spray effectiveness.
