When wet, windy weather threatens cereal crops before harvest, knowing you have done the work beforehand to reduce the risk of lodging and increase seed yield is important.
MODDUS Evo®, a trusted Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) since 2016, delivers consistent lodging control across cereals and yield enhancement in ryegrass seed crops. Built on 250 g/L trinexapacethyl in a Dispersible Concentrate (DC) formulation, it combines a proven active ingredient with technology designed for real-life conditions.

"The built-in adjuvant system improves how the product spreads and is absorbed. Growers get more consistent results, even when conditions at application time are not ideal."
MODDUS Evo is rainfast within two hours, giving growers a reliable application window during unpredictable spring weather. Plus, it mixes well in cold water during tank filling; an important formulation characteristic when working in cooler spring conditions. Its low-solvent formulation also means a lower odour profile for spray operators.
"Tank-mix compatibility is something growers ask about a lot, and MODDUS Evo handles complex mixes well," says Paul.
"Treatments with up to 5-way tank mixtures have been tested and evaluated independently for physical and biological compatibility, as well as phytotoxicity. Commercially acceptable crop safety and tank mix compatibility was demonstrated in our trials."
Beyond shortening internodes, MODDUS Evo supports improved root development by increasing both root length and number. This enhances root anchorage and reduces the risk of root lodging alongside stem lodging. Larger root systems help improve the plant's ability to access water and nutrients when under stress.
"Lodging control is the headline, but the root response is equally important," Paul explains.
"In high-performing cereal or ryegrass seed crops, better root anchorage makes a real difference to how the crop harvests. With reliable lodging control, improved crop standabiliity, and good handling properties, this product delivers across all fronts, making it the benchmark PGR for New Zealand cereal and ryegrass seed crops to maximise yields."
