Introducing the PGG Wrightson Carterton store team

Building enduring customer relationships is what motivates the Carterton team to the extra mile says Tim Williams, PGG Wrightson Carterton Store Manager.

The store services dairy farmers, lamb finishers and equine customers. Visit in-store and you’ll be greeted by Customer Service Representatives, Becks and Dani. Out in-the-field is Technical Field Representative, Wayne.

Having recently joined PGG Wrightson, Tim is impressed by the positive, family-like atmosphere created by the team. He is also proud of how each member goes above and beyond for their customers every day.

With a good mix of long-serving members and fresh faces, the Carterton team work hard to provide sound advice and product recommendations that help customers achieve their goals.

“We have a loyal customer base,” says Tim. “With Wayne in the company for over 20 years for instance, we are now working with the second generations of families. Their loyalty is reciprocated by us providing the best service we can.”

Visit the Carterton store and you’ll be greeted by the team who understands that asking the right questions makes a big difference when tailoring a solution to fit a customer’s needs. “Becks helped a customer recently who was new to owning a lifestyle block. He was wanting to install a tape gate but wasn’t sure how to do it. Becks took the time to take him through the installation step-by-step and gave him all the equipment he’d need. He really appreciated the help.”

Tim is impressed by the training available to the store teams. He says this investment by PGG Wrightson to boost the team’s technical knowledge allows the team to provide up-to-date advice. “With the team’s level of technical know-how, we are able to confidently discuss products with our customers and this allows us to develop stronger relationships as farmers trust our recommendations.”

It’s not just in-store that you’ll find the team with most living locally and actively involved in the wider community. For Technical Field Representative Wayne, for example, that means volunteering for the local fire brigade.

The team enjoyed the opportunity to host an event recently, welcoming Tim and farewelling the outgoing Store Manager. “Though it was a cold winter evening, 30 customers attended to enjoy our hospitality and it struck me the value our customers place on developing enduring relationships. For us, that means continuing to grow these bonds by adding value to our customers’ businesses.”
