Introducing the PGG Wrightson Whanganui store team
A dedicated bunch of people is how Kelly Sullivan, PGG Wrightson Whanganui Store Manager, describes her team.
The Whanganui store services sheep and beef farmers, lifestylers and equine customers. Visit in-store and you’ll be greeted by Customer Service Representatives, Sarah, Peta and Ella. Out in-the-field is Technical Field Representatives, Todd and Anthony.
A young and vibrant team, Kelly notes they have grown their loyal customer base. She says customers appreciate the team’s energy and willingness to go the extra mile to provide sound advice and product recommendations that help customers achieve their goals.
Creating an enjoyable store experience begins with a happy team and Kelly says the culture at PGG Wrightson and team environment created by the Whanganui team is something she is proud of.
Visit the store and you’ll be greeted by the team who understands that asking the right questions makes a big difference when tailoring a solution to fit a customer’s needs. “Recently, a customer visited looking for advice on suitable horse feed. She had taken ownership of a thoroughbred horse who was overweight and displaying undesirable behaviour which meant she was unable to ride it. With a good understanding of horse feed, we took the time to discuss suitable options and provided a recommendation. A couple of weeks later the customer popped in-store to thank us for our help and to let us know she was now able to ride the horse.”
“Customers are always so appreciative of our help in these situations,” says Kelly, “and it gives us a great sense of satisfaction knowing we have benefited them.”
Kelly says she is impressed by the training available to the store teams and believes the investment by PGG Wrightson to boost the team’s technical knowledge allows them to provide up-to-date technical advice and product recommendations. “By acquiring technical know-how, our team is more confident when discussing products with our customers, which in turn, allows us to develop stronger relationships as farmers trust our recommendations.”
It’s not just in-store that you’ll find the team as Kelly explains. “We are each involved in the wider community. Peta is a netball coach while Anthony coaches soccer. Ella gives her time to community horse riding. Recently, we all volunteered our time at local dog trials.”
Kelly encourages anyone living in and around Whanganui to visit the PGG Wrightson store and enjoy the friendly experience, where she knows you’ll benefit from the team’s technical and local knowledge.
