Introducing the PGG Wrightson Fairlie store team

A dedicated bunch of people with deep connections to the community is how Claire Graham, PGG Wrightson Fairlie Store Manager, describes her team.

The Fairlie store services sheep, beef, deer and dairy farmers along with lifestylers. Visit in-store and be greeted by Claire and Customer Service Representatives, Edon and Andrew. Out in-the-field are Technical Field Representatives, Gerry and Maree.

With strong ties to the community, the team’s passion for supporting those living in the area is demonstrated by their commitment to various groups as Claire explains.

“As our children have grown, we’ve contributed to groups starting from Plunket, for example, then moving to schools and sports clubs. I’ve been manager of one of the South Canterbury Hockey teams for the past five years and bar manager at the local rugby club since my son started playing 12 years ago. Maree is secretary for Home and School and helps with a local netball team. She, along with Gerry, are members of the local golf club while Edon is secretary of the local fire brigade. We are involved in a variety of organisations.”

“The bonds we’ve created translate to the service we provide in-store. We’ll go the extra mile for our customers, picking up the phone and helping them anytime. If a customer has had a breakdown, for example, one of the team will drop what’s needed to the customer on their way home.”

With Claire, Gerry and Maree having worked in the store for 10 plus years, there’s plenty of knowledge and experience to be shared. Long-lasting relationships too are formed over this time and Claire says this is important to customers.

“They enjoy visiting the store and being greeted by friendly faces they recognise. They also appreciate the depth of understanding we hold about their business and how we use this knowledge to provide technical advice and product recommendations.”

Visit the Fairlie store and you’ll be greeted by the team who understands that asking the right questions makes a big difference when tailoring a solution to fit a customer’s needs. As Claire illustrates, “when customers purchase fittings for their water systems, it can often be tricky working out what fittings are needed and where. We’ll assist some by laying the fittings on the floor to demonstrate the correct sequencing.”

“Customers are always appreciative of our help in these situations as it means they leave the store confident they have all the products they need. As well, it gives us a great sense of satisfaction knowing we have benefited their business and helped simplify a complicated task.”

Claire encourages anyone living in and around Fairlie to visit the PGG Wrightson store and enjoy the friendly in-store experience and benefit from the team’s technical and local knowledge.
